A warm, dry Saturday morning brought runners and walkers to Davie for a colorful fundraiser supporting families affected by cancer.Participants gathered for a 5-kilometer and 1-mile color run, with the event raising money for cancer patients, caregivers and their families. Runners were sprayed with colorful powder as they made their way through the course, leaving bright colors on the ground and on their shirts. The annual event, which is in its seventh year, drew participants of all ages and was especially meaningful for those with personal connections to cancer.Participant Stephanie Williams said she attended to honor her grandmother, a breast cancer survivor.“I think it’s easy to say things, it’s harder to do things,” she said. “Getting up on a Saturday morning bright and early puts action behind my support.

I can say anything, but when I’m out here running, I’m showing that I truly feel something about this organization.” Williams said participating in the race was a way to demonstrate her commitment to the organization and the families it serves.The fundraiser comes as Gilda’s Club continues providing support and services to cancer patients, caregivers and their families. During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the organization highlighted families who benefit from those services. .l10-neighborhood, .l10-neighborhood * { box-sizing: border-box; } .l10-neighborhood{ --blue-dark:#0d2c73; --blue:#1f57c4; --blue-light:#3370e6; --gray-bg:#f2f3f5; --gray-border:#d6d8dc; --text-dark:#1a1a1a; --white:#ffffff; font-family:system-ui,-apple-system,"Segoe UI",Roboto,Arial,sans-serif; max-width:860px; margin:1.5rem auto; border-radius:10px; overflow:hidden; border:1px solid var(--gray-border); background:var(--gray-bg); box-shadow:0 4px 14px rgba(0,0,0,.12); text-align:center; } .l10-head{ background:linear-gradient(90deg,var(--blue-dark),var(--blue)); color:var(--white); padding:12px 16px; font-weight:800; text-transform:uppercase; font-size:1rem; letter-spacing:.3px; display:flex; justify-content:center; align-items:center; gap:8px; } .l10-body{ max-width:740px; margin:0 auto; padding:0 16px 18px; } .l10-sub{ margin:12px 0 10px; font-size:.95rem; color:var(--text-dark); font-weight:500; text-align:center; } .l10-grid{ display:grid; grid-template-columns:1fr; gap:12px; } @media (min-width:600px){ .l10-grid{ grid-template-columns:repeat(3,1fr); } } .nb-btn{ display…
