(Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested 12 policemen, including several officers, for allegedly attempting to extort around RM2 million from a Chinese national in Kuala Lumpur.Dang Wangi police chief Sazalee Adam confirmed the arrests, which reportedly included a deputy superintendent and an assistant superintendent, Harian Metro reported.It is unclear why the Chinese national had been detained by the policemen, but he was reportedly released after paying them US$140,000, or about RM560,000, though they had initially demanded that he pay RM2 million.The victim then lodged a police report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.Police managed to recover some of the cash paid to the policemen following their arrests.
