Podemos criticizes the Government for being late in taking control of the port of Ceuta and once again demonstrates its "disastrous management"

Following a mass border crossing in late July, authorities in Ceuta have identified 2,000 migrant minors, with officials prioritizing their return to their families. In response to the ongoing situation, the Spanish government has moved to take control of the port of Ceuta to establish temporary housing facilities for migrants. Minister of Health Mónica García has publicly urged the local government of Ceuta to expedite the transfer of 500 of these minors to the Spanish mainland.

Podemos has expressed strong opposition to the government's strategy, specifically criticizing the installation of housing tents at the port. The party characterized the government's intervention as late and reflective of poor management, while calling for a more permanent, structural solution to the migration crisis. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has signaled that the government's broader legislative focus for 2027 will center on housing priorities, urging parliamentary cooperation on the upcoming national budget.
