(2nd LD) S. Korea to relocate some gov't ministries in Seoul to Sejong from 2027

South Korea's government announced on Thursday a plan to relocate certain government ministries currently based in Seoul to the administrative city of Sejong, with the move scheduled to begin in 2027.

The relocation initiative represents a continuation of ongoing efforts to decentralize administrative functions away from the capital region and further establish Sejong as the country's administrative hub.
