Russia hits Ukrainian capital with ballistic missiles and drones killing 3 and wounding over a dozen

At least three to four people were killed and more than a dozen others were injured after Russia launched an intense barrage of ballistic missiles and drones targeting the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv overnight into Saturday. Local officials reported that the strikes caused significant damage, including to a five-story residential building, prompting emergency services personnel to respond and extinguish fires at the scene.

The attack coincides with a push by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for additional Patriot missile systems from the United States. Furthermore, the strikes follow recent findings from the United Nations indicating that June was the deadliest month for civilians in the ongoing conflict.
