NewzThe Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a 12-year-old boy who has been reported missing.According to deputies, Derius Frye was last seen Monday in the 3000 block of Northwest 61st Street.Deputies said Derius was wearing a burgundy school uniform shirt, khaki pants, black shoes and was carrying a black bookbag with a monster design on it. Derius was described by authorities as a Black male, who is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. He has black hair and dark brown eyes.Deputies said Derius has not contacted his family and may be in need of services.Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Deputy D.

Four vehicles and part of a home were damaged Tuesday morning after a fire broke out in Homestead, officials said.Firefighters responded to the area of Northwest Ninth Street and 10th Avenue, where they encountered massive flames.The fire has since been extinguished, but an ATV, three other vehicles and a portion of the home were damaged.Firefighters said the blaze started with the ATV, though it remains unclear what caused it to catch fire.“I thought it was going to explode because there was, like, at least three cars over there that caught on fire at the same time, so we were just, you know, worried that it might be a bigger thing,” neighbor Hilda Palma said. “But I was also worried because since the house was already on fire as well, I didn’t know if there were people in there, because the front of the door was getting on fire.”No injuries were reported.Additional details were not immediately available.
