Dozens missing, 5 dead after migrant boat is found drifting near Spain’s Canary Islands

At least five people have died and dozens more are feared missing after a boat carrying West African migrants was found drifting in the Atlantic Ocean near Spain's Canary Islands. Maritime rescue services brought forty-four survivors to safety.

According to survivors, the vessel had been adrift for nearly a month without provisions. Many of those on board suffered from severe dehydration and illness after resorting to drinking seawater.
