A Ravichandran, R Elan, M Jeyaraj, J Mosesdevritto, Afiq Safine and another man known only as Ziyauddin appeared before Petaling Jaya sessions court judge Syahliza Warnoh to enter their plea today.PETALING JAYA: Six men have claimed trial at the sessions court here to a charge of kidnapping a businessman two weeks ago.A Ravichandran, R Elan, M Jeyaraj, J Mosesdevritto, Afiq Safine and another man known only as Ziyauddin pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to them before judge Syahliza Warnoh, Sinar Harian reported.They are accused of acting with seven other suspects, who remain at large, to abduct a 44-year-old man and demand an RM8 million ransom.The offence allegedly took place at a nasi kandar restaurant in Dataran Sunway at 5.15pm on July 16.The charge was framed under Section 3(1) of the Kidnapping Act 1961, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of between 30 and 40 years and whipping upon conviction.
