Strong earthquake hits Mexico-Guatemala border, triggering tsunami alert

The US Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning and has recorded waves 0.3m (1.1 feet) high in Puerto Madero and Chiapas in Mexico. Geological Survey reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.3 with the epicenter 30 miles southwest of Aquiles Serdan, Mexico. A powerful earthquake near the border of Mexico and Guatemala raised fears of a tsunami and shook buildings across three countries.
