Westlife boy band member Mark Feehily is taking legal action against a surgeon following a private hospital operation that he alleges nearly killed him. The litigation stems from a gastric sleeve procedure that resulted in a severe post-operative leak.

The complication led to sepsis, a life-threatening systemic reaction to infection, which ultimately required the total removal of Feehily's stomach.
