Beginning August 15, the ruling party Morena has convened 202 informational assemblies across the country under the banner of defending national sovereignty. The launch of these gatherings follows recent political pressure on the federal government and Morena stemming from the controversy surrounding the withdrawal of Andrés Manuel López Obrador's visa.

The assemblies commenced with speeches emphasizing sovereignty alongside political attacks directed against the right wing, marking a coordinated response by the officialist party amid the ongoing federal tensions.
