Abel Furlán faced a judicial setback regarding his efforts to regain leadership of the Unión Obrera Metalúrgica (UOM) and its associated health insurance fund. The Sala I of the Federal Civil and Commercial Chamber ruled that the dispute over the validity of the current authorities must be handled by labor courts rather than the federal civil jurisdiction.
