On September 13, a forest fire near Benahavís in Málaga, Spain, prompted authorities to activate the operational situation 1 emergency phase of the Andalusian wildfire plan, Infoca.

As a result of the advancing fire, officials ordered a preventive confinement for the entire urban center of the municipality, which has a population of approximately 9,500 residents.
