Addisu Gobena smashes Sydney Marathon record as Jepchirchir wins fourth women’s major

Ethiopian athlete Addisu Gobena won the men’s race at the Sydney Marathon, setting a new course record with a time of 2 hours, 4 minutes, and 42 seconds. Gobena, a former javelin thrower, secured the victory in a performance that established a new benchmark for the event.

In the women’s division, Kenyan runner Peres Jepchirchir claimed the title. This victory marks her fourth major marathon win, adding the Sydney crown to her previous successes in Boston, New York, and London.
