At least 29 minors have died following a fire that occurred this Thursday in a neighborhood of Bukavu, located in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (RDC). The incident resulted in the destruction of two schools within the area.

The affected territory is currently under the control of the M23 rebel group. Authorities and local observers are monitoring the situation as the death toll has risen to 29 victims.
