Customs strengthens control over barges carrying goods to Haiti

The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) in the Dominican Republic has implemented new operational controls regarding the movement of semi-trucks transporting goods across the border into Haiti. DGA Director General Nelson Arroyo announced on Thursday that these measures are intended to regulate transit schedules and enhance inspection protocols.

Under the new directives, trucks are required to depart for their destinations before midday. The initiative aims to ensure that customs authorities have sufficient time and oversight to verify the contents of shipments moving between the two nations.
