Afghan woman deported from US in first use of 'alien terrorist' court

An Afghan woman, identified as Nazira Haji Zada, has been deported from the United States following a ruling by the Alien Terrorist Removal Court. The legal US resident, who was never personally charged with a crime, is the first individual to be deported under the jurisdiction of this specialized court.

The deportation was executed based on Zada's familial associations rather than personal criminal charges. Specifically, her son and son-in-law had previously been convicted on charges related to an election day terrorism plot, which formed the basis for the court's decision to remove her from the country.
