African women demand land ownership data

Rural women from 22 African countries, gathering through the African Kilimanjaro Rural Women movement in Arusha, have formally demanded that their governments collect and publish comprehensive data on women’s land ownership.

The participants emphasized that reliable statistics are critically necessary to measure ongoing progress in protecting women's rights and to strengthen broader food security across the continent.
