After fleeing Afghanistan to continue educating girls, SOLA opens a permanent school in Rwanda

The School of Leadership of Afghanistan (SOLA), an institution dedicated to educating girls, has opened a permanent campus in Rwanda. The school relocated after its members fled Afghanistan following the Taliban's return to power, ensuring the continuation of its educational mission abroad.

Led by co-founder Shabana Basij-Rasikh, SOLA establishes this new permanent home in Rwanda to provide a safe and stable environment for Afghan girls to pursue their education. The opening marks a significant milestone for the displaced academic community as they set down roots in East Africa.
