Aged care home breached woman’s rights after ‘severe’ failures in wound and UTI care

Avondale Lifecare, an aged care facility, has been found to have breached an elderly resident's rights following serious shortcomings in her medical treatment. The failures specifically involved inadequate care regarding wounds and urinary tract infections (UTIs).

In addition to the deficiencies in clinical care, the facility was cited for failing to adequately involve the resident's family in her care and medical decisions.
