Agency says sea turtle eggs laid on California beaches are a first for the US West Coast

Wildlife officials report that sea turtle eggs have been discovered on a Southern California beach in Huntington Beach, marking the first recorded instance of sea turtles laying eggs on the U.S. West Coast.

Initially, a reptile was observed struggling in the sand, which turned out to be a sea turtle nesting. Three days after the initial event, additional eggs were discovered at the location, potentially laid by the same olive ridley turtle.
