At San Diego Comic-Con, director Robert Vince provided an exclusive first look at "Air Bud Returns," the first theatrical entry in the franchise since 1998. The film follows a young boy and a stray golden retriever chasing basketball dreams in the town of Fernfield. Following production that began in Vancouver in late 2025, the movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on January 22, 2027.
