Air quality alerts issued for multiple states as wildfire smoke returns

Air quality alerts have been issued across multiple states in the United States due to the return of wildfire smoke.

The smoke is also affecting regions outside the U.S. In Iceland, a meteorologist linked a pale yellow haze that settled over the Capital Region on Thursday evening to smoke from wildfires in Canada.

Residents in the affected international area observed the sky taking on a whitish-yellow tint following a sunny afternoon as the unusual haze spread across the region.
