Airlines blame airport congestion, weather for flight delays

Airline operators have attributed a high rate of domestic flight disruptions to severe weather conditions, airport congestion, and ongoing infrastructure gaps. The explanations were provided following a report by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

According to the NCAA data, approximately 60 percent of domestic flights experienced delays during the month of August. The operators pointed to these operational and environmental factors as the primary drivers behind the widespread schedule failures.
