A wildfire in northern Portugal has been brought under control, while nine districts remain on heat alert.

Authorities in Portugal have successfully brought a wildfire in the northern municipality of Santo Tirso under control. The fire, which began on Tuesday, reached the resolution phase early Wednesday morning. Despite this progress, nine districts across the country remain under a yellow weather alert due to high temperatures.

In a separate incident in South Africa, at least eleven people were killed and three others injured during a shooting at a party in the KwaZulu-Natal province. The attack was allegedly carried out by three men, according to reports from the South African Police Service.
