Playwright Alberto Conejero has announced the upcoming film adaptation of his work, titled 'La bola negra,' directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, professionally known as 'Los Javis.' The project stems from a long-standing creative interest, as the directing duo first envisioned the adaptation over a decade ago after attending a performance of Conejero’s play 'La piedra oscura.'

Conejero has publicly praised the directors for their approach to the material, noting that they have taken the creative risk of infusing the narrative with a distinct poetic sensibility. The film represents the culmination of a multi-year development process that began shortly after the directors' initial exposure to Conejero's theatrical writing.
