A series of seismic events has impacted the province of Granada, Spain, beginning on Friday afternoon. The activity included an earthquake of magnitude 5 centered in the municipality of Alhendín, which prompted residents to evacuate to public spaces during the night. The National Geographic Institute reports that nearly 40 tremors have been recorded in the region since the initial activity began.

Emergency services are currently conducting inspections across the affected areas. While the seismic activity has caused minor issues such as surface cracks, officials have reported no instances of serious structural damage.
