Alleged gunman fatally shot by cops after taxi man killed in Nain, St Elizabeth

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — An alleged gunman was fatally shot by the police moments after he and an accomplice reportedly killed a taxi operator in Nain, St Elizabeth Wednesday afternoon. Police have identified the taxi operator as 48-year-old Rohan Hill. Residents say he plied the Mandeville to Junction route.

Preliminary reports are that shortly before 5:00 pm two gunmen who posed as passengers opened fire on the taxi driver before fleeing from the vehicle at Nain. A joint police-military operation was underway in the area when police said one of two gunmen challenged the security forces and he was fatally shot. A manhunt is underway for his crony with soldiers and police swarming the area.
