Alonso and 'Checo' Pérez eliminated in the first round of qualifying (Q1)

During the qualifying session for the Italian Grand Prix on Saturday, September 5, several notable drivers faced early elimination. Double world champion Fernando Alonso of Spain, driving for Aston Martin, recorded the twenty-first fastest time, while Mexican driver Sergio Pérez of Cadillac finished twentieth, resulting in both drivers being eliminated in the first qualifying round (Q1).

Further down the grid during the subsequent session, additional drivers were knocked out of contention. Spaniard Carlos Sainz, representing Williams, secured the fifteenth-fastest time, and Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto, competing for Audi, posted the eleventh-fastest time. Both Sainz and Bortoleto were eliminated in the second qualifying round (Q2) ahead of the thirteenth grand prix of the season.
