Álvaro Vargas Llosa announces that he will seek to contribute to a “new phase” in the Peru-United States relationship

Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori has nominated journalist and author Álvaro Vargas Llosa to serve as the country's ambassador to the United States. The appointment was confirmed following the official proposal by the administration, with Vargas Llosa formally accepting the invitation to represent Peru in Washington D.C.
