House members ask downstream coffee producers to increase added value

Hendry Munief, a member of Commission VII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), has urged Indonesian coffee producers to increase the value-added component of their products. He emphasized that producers should move beyond simply marketing raw coffee beans to focus on downstream processing and finished goods.

The initiative aims to enhance the economic potential of the domestic coffee industry. By prioritizing downstream activities, the government seeks to ensure that producers capture a larger share of the value chain rather than relying solely on the export or sale of unprocessed agricultural commodities.
