Anguish as Valpaços wildfire storms out of control

Tearful and exhausted residents are being evacuated from villages in the municipalities of Valpaços and Mirandela as a vast wildfire continues to advance across northern Portugal.

The fast-moving blaze has grown out of control, driven by strengthening winds that are fueling its rapid spread through the region.
