Apple agrees to pay $150,000 to settle discrimination lawsuit over employee's Shabbat observance

Apple has agreed to a $150,000 settlement to resolve a discrimination lawsuit filed by a former employee. The worker alleged that the company failed to accommodate his religious observance of Shabbat, which required him to have Fridays and Saturdays off, and subsequently terminated his employment after he raised concerns regarding antisemitism in the workplace.

The litigation also involved allegations regarding workplace conduct following the October 7 Hamas attack. The employee claimed that his manager instructed him to avoid political discussions or debates concerning the conflict at work. The settlement concludes the legal dispute between the parties.
