Archaeological remains from Italian excavations at Isfahan mosque to be reassessed

Archaeological findings recovered by Italian archaeologists approximately six decades ago from the historic Jameh Mosque in Isfahan are set to undergo a new review. The director of the UNESCO-listed site announced the planned reassessment of the decades-old excavations.

The Jameh Mosque of Isfahan is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage site in Iran. The upcoming review will re-examine artifacts and data originally uncovered by Italian research teams during mid-20th-century archaeological operations at the historic location.
