Army will shut down a unit in Europe focused on learning drone warfare

The United States Army has directed a unit based in Europe to cease its specialized focus on drone warfare and return to its original role as a traditional infantry battalion. The directive, announced by officials on Thursday, concludes a project that had been active for nearly a year. Soldiers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade were involved in the initiative to integrate and master battlefield drone technology.
