Tanzania looks beyond AFCON as facilities take shape

The Tanzanian government is currently funding the development of major football infrastructure in Arusha in preparation for co-hosting the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) alongside Kenya and Uganda. A primary project includes a 330 billion shilling investment aimed at modernizing sporting facilities within the region.

Beyond the immediate requirements of the tournament, officials are focusing on the long-term utility of these developments. The initiative is designed to provide sustained sporting and economic benefits, with a particular emphasis on how the infrastructure will integrate with the local tourism sector and contribute to regional growth after the competition concludes.
