At least 15 dead after overcrowded ferry capsizes on Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe

At least 15 people have died and dozens remain missing following the capsizing of an overcrowded ferry on Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the vessel, operated by the District Development Fund, overturned after being struck by waves on the world's largest human-made lake.

Reports indicate the boat was carrying 114 adult passengers despite having a maximum capacity of 90. Search and rescue operations are currently underway to locate the 27 individuals who are still unaccounted for following the disaster.
