At least 22 bodies have been recovered and hundreds of people remain missing following a massive flash flood and mudslide disaster that struck the Nepal-Tibet border region on Wednesday. The sudden flooding swept through parts of both territories, leaving widespread destruction and disrupting communication lines in the area.

In Nepal, at least 19 fatalities were initially confirmed following the flooding near the border. Meanwhile, officials and Chinese state media reported major casualties and hundreds of unaccounted-for individuals—including tourists—who remained out of contact hours after the disaster struck, prompting ongoing search and rescue efforts.
