At least 8 hospitalized after turbulent flight diverts to MIA, first responders say

Two people were killed in a shooting Thursday night in Lauderhill, according to police.Officers with the Lauderhill Police Department said officers responded to the 2000 block of Northwest 43rd Terrace just after 11 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers said they arrived and found two adults suffering from gunshot wounds.

They said one victim was pronounced dead at the scene by local Fire Rescue personnel. The second victim was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead, police confirmed. No additional details about the victims or the motive were immediately released, and no suspects have been identified at this time, according to investigators.Authorities said LPD’s Criminal Investigations Division and crime scene investigators responded to the scene as the investigation continues.Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

One person appeared to be a flight attendant for Avianca.Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of those transported, and the extent of their injuries or the specific flight involved.Local 10 News is working to confirm additional details with the airlines, first responders and airport officials.
