Audits of Agriculture indicate a lack of budgetary transparency

Two internal audits of the Dominican Republic's Ministry of Agriculture have identified 56 instances of non-compliance, highlighting significant issues regarding budgetary transparency. The findings reveal a lack of documentation for various payments and contracts, the presence of overdue debts, and the financing of employee vehicles without the corresponding payroll deductions.

These irregularities, which occurred during the period beginning in September, point to systemic administrative failures within the institution. The audits serve as an official record of these procedural lapses, raising concerns about the management of public funds and internal oversight mechanisms at the Ministry.
