August was world’s joint-hottest month on record, scientists say

The European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) reported that August reached record-breaking temperatures, marking it as the world’s hottest month since global record-keeping began. Data indicates that average global temperatures climbed more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels during this period.

In addition to rising air temperatures, the assessment highlighted that ocean temperatures reached unprecedented highs.
