Australia begins legal action against Telegram over alleged pro-terror material, extremist violence

The office of the eSafety Commissioner said it had begun action after Telegram failed to remove videos of terrorist executions and mass shootings. The eSafety Commission will allege Telegram neglected its legal obligations when it allowed videos, including of the Christchurch mosque massacre, to remain on the platform. The eSafety commissioner says footage of videos of terrorist executions and mass shootings from the Christchurch and Buffalo attacks sat on the controversial messaging service for weeks after Australians reported them.
