B.C. to adopt new time zone code to coincide with permanent year-round daylight time

British Columbia has adopted a new time zone code, transitioning to Pacific time with the abbreviation PCT to coincide with the province's decision to remain permanently on year-round daylight time.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Citizens' Services, the province has already begun using the new designation. The shift aligns the region's official timekeeping nomenclature with its permanent adoption of daylight time.
