B.C. wildfires grow, put more than 5K under evacuation orders in past 24 hours

British Columbia wildfires have intensified significantly over a 24-hour period, forcing more than 5,000 residents under evacuation orders.

Currently, approximately 130 wildfires are burning across the province, according to data from the BC Wildfire Service.

Authorities report that nearly half of the active blazes are currently classified as out-of-control, highlighting the escalating severity and rapid spread of the fire season in the region.
