Balochistan declared regular police area with integration of Levies Force

The Balochistan cabinet approved a series of major decisions aimed at improving security, education, governance and public service delivery on Wednesday, including declaring the entire province a "police area" after the integration of the Levies Force into the police system. The decisions were taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where various matters related to law and order, development projects, administrative reforms and public welfare were discussed. The cabinet approved Phase III of the Chief Minister Scholarship Programme, under which 300 children of registered workers from Balochistan will be enrolled in a quality boarding school in Islamabad.

It also approved the formation of the Provincial Parole Board on the recommendation of the Home Department and sanctioned the establishment of a new police station at Hub Marble City to enhance security in the industrial and commercial area.

The cabinet also approved the Service Level Agreement for the Quetta Safe City Project, paving the way for the expansion of modern surveillance systems and technology-based policing in the provincial capital. In the local government sector, the cabinet upgraded Union Council Mesi Zai and Union Council Mai Zai to municipal committees, while also approving the establishment of a new Municipal Committee in Gulistan to improve administrative services and strengthen local governance. For better planning and implementation of development projects, the cabinet approved the Balochistan Planning Manual.

The meeting also endorsed the Balochistan Child Protection Rules 2026 to further strengthen measures for the protection and welfare of children across the province.
