Thousands sleep in schools as floods hit 52,000 homes in Bangkok

Following days of heavy rainfall in the Thai capital, severe flooding has inundated approximately 52,000 homes and numerous roads across Bangkok. The disaster has forced thousands of residents to seek refuge in temporary shelters, where many awoke on Sunday.

While some citizens have begun the process of returning to dry out their homes and personal belongings, the impact remains widespread. Reports indicate that nearly 4,900 individuals have been directly affected by the displacement.
