Bartender facing murder charge

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 25-year-old woman has been charged with murder, following a fatal stabbing that occurred during a domestic dispute. Charged is Nadisha Montgomery, a bartender of a St Catherine address, for the death of 24-year-old Imani Richards o. Reports from the Half-Way Tree police are that about 4:30 am on July 24, Richards was at home when an argument developed between him and Montgomery, which escalated to a physical confrontation.

It is reported that Montgomery sought assistance before retrieving a knife from the kitchen, then leaving the premises. It is further reported that while leaving, the two re-engaged in a physical confrontation when the knife was brought into play, and Richards was wounded. Following the confrontation, Montgomery reportedly threw the knife to the ground before fleeing the area.

Richards was assisted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Later that day, Montgomery turned herself in to the police. Montgomery was subsequently charged on Monday, July 27, following a question-and-answer session in the presence of her attorney a day earlier.

A court date is being finalised for her.
