The marmots spent 18 days rehabilitating at Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue before they were ready to return to their natural alpine habitat. Two marmots believed to have hitchhiked their way to the Bay Area with Burning Man travelers were released back into the wild near Lake Tahoe on Tuesday after they were mistakenly carried roughly 200 miles from their home.
