Bear shot, killed after girl attacked in Maple Ridge was the right one, officials say

Officials have confirmed that a bear shot and killed in a neighbour's yard in Maple Ridge was indeed the animal responsible for attacking a young girl.

Initially, local RCMP stated that the destroyed bear was not the same one involved in the attack. However, in a subsequent update released on Friday, the Conservation Service corrected that assessment, establishing that the correct animal had been targeted and eliminated.
