Boat with around 270 people capsizes off North Cyprus, Turkish Cypriot media reports

Those rescued from the vessel were taken to Kyrenia port for transfer to hospitals, according to Turkish Cypriot Transport Minister Erhan Arikli. The privately owned ferry immediately started taking on water for an unknown reason after leaving port. Turkish media has reported that there has been one death

The local mayor says 159 passengers have been reached so far, with a rescue operation under way.
